It was founded in the early 60’s from hawaiian beach boys who were trying to learn tourists to use the longboard along with a paddle instead of just surf in the blue seas. This would give them the chance to take better photos of amazing sunsets while they are on the surf board! In SUP what you need is: A long surf board and a paddle! As long as you have the equipment you can go out to the beach and start paddling. The big difference between suping and surfing is that surf needs waves while sup needs a flatten sea. The great thing with sup is that you dont neccesarly need an open sea to ride the board and start paddling.
